WHAT'S IN A COMMUNITY? Many of us talk of "community" but what are we really looking for in a community? For me, I want to know the names of my neighbors and I want them to know mine, along with my husband's and dog's names (Butch and Lucy)! I want to do business with local folks. I want to go to the grocery and be able to "visit" with the checkout person and bagger. I'm crazy about my pharmacist (with a local pharmacy); he actually takes time to talk to me about things that concern me. I like knowing that I have a strong community sheriff's department as well as a local fire department. Everybody probably has a different sense of community, but I think many of us think of times gone by. Our desires don't necessarily have to be of "past" times; many of these ideals are present today in many of our neighborhoods, towns and communities.
